Description
7 day All Inclusive COMBO Alaska Caribou/Ptarmigan/Waterfowl/Deep Sea Fishing Trip. $5,500 pp, plus Tip.
It’s the best hunting on the remotest spot in Alaska.
It is the same price if you want to target only one species or everything that is in season.
I offer the extra stuff as a BONUS so you never run out of options and you have an Adventure of a Lifetime!
August 10-Dec 31 is Bull Caribou season.
Cow Caribou are open year around, so it’s basically an either sex hunt.
Non-Residents (NR) are allowed two Caribou as long as you buy two locking big game tags ($650 each).
The caribou hunts are DIY drop off hunts.
Residents are allowed the same 2 Bull Caribou limit but Cow Caribou are unlimited. It’s a great way to fill the freezer.
You will be taken by boat and dropped off in a good spot of your choosing (map of possible landing sites at the Lodge) for usually 2-3 days. Once you have tagged out, contact me by inReach or Satelite Phone and I’ll come get you.
Once back at the Lodge you can do all your game processing, using our Vac Master Chamber Sealer, cleaning stations, and freezers.
You are REQUIRED to harvest ALL edible game meat here in Alaska. This includes the quarters, backstraps, tenderloins, rib meat, and neck meat.
If you don’t wish to take your meat home we can donate it to needy local families.
Once you finish caribou hunting there is sightseeing of the many interesting things on the island. We can go deep sea fishing, creek fishing, lake fishing, trail hiking, waterfall viewing, look at old abandoned Military buildings/sites, or grab the decoys and go get some sea ducks and puddle ducks.
You will be staying at my clean and comfortable Lodge and be well fed by my wife whenever you aren’t afield.
Bring your own camping gear and dehydrated meals for your time in the field (typically 2-4 days).
You are welcome to mail gear to the Lodge in advance of your trip, and mail it back to yourself using USPS.
ISO-Butane (Jet Boil), and a variety of stove fuels are available and provided.
Meals and drinks are included while at the Lodge. (BYOB) Alcohol is available on Adak but is expensive.
The Adak flight leaves from Anchorage about 1030am twice a week.
My hunts are 7 days
Saturday to Saturday, or Wednesday to Wednesday.
You will be back in Anchorage about 1900 the following Saturday or Wednesday.
Get the Alaska Airlines cc and you can fly free your first trip out just on the miles they give you for signing up. You also get a 99$ companion ticket annually so you can split a ticket with a buddy you bring out and pay half price. It’s an expensive ticket ($1400ish) so getting their cc helps. It’s a 737 and you usually don’t have a problem getting mileage tickets.
In summary, it is a very fun and successful hunt and Adventure on a very remote Island!
The Caribou meat tastes awesome, the Fishing is excellent, and there are many species of Trophy Ducks and Geese.
The weather is windy and rainy so bring good rain gear! Chest waders are encouraged, especially for late season hunting.
